I hadn't used an Arri Alexa XT before, so decided to learn more by helping out Ralph Engle from 'This Flight Tonight' by making a quick music video with the camera. Also had some classic soft filters sitting on the shelf, so thought I would test them out as well.

Macroscopic Videography Tests on a Red MX (2012)

lenses - 1) nikon 20mm (reversed). 2) 2x extender + 1.4x extender + 135mm nikon with 20mm nikon (reversed)
experiments to see what could be achieved macroscopically on a red one mx camera.
at higher magnifications dust in the optical path become clearly evident.

animation is at 12.5fps; dolly movement is at 25fps (manually operated dolly connected to an old worm drive system from a window, and a screw-driver)
the first scene from a short film: a robot finds it's been left behind on a spaceship to 'volunteer' for an important task.
this is the raw footage of the first scene (filmed over 2 days).
